Asking for a raise

Senior member
Just curious if anyone has done it. How did you do it? How did it turn out? Someone has to have some interesting stories...

Bring a gun and if he says no shoot him. Then take over the business and give yourself a super raise.

How long have you worked there?

Do something along the lines of:

Hi, how are you today?
You know, I've been here for X years and working X amount of hours per week. I was wondering if it would be feasible to get an increase in my paycheck because I really like working here with the nice enviroment and co-workers.

Don't worry if you get it or not. If you are rejected, it is OK to take liberties with the company's petty cash fund.

Asking for raises becomes addictive after the first time.

Everybody does it. No one ever died from being turned down.

dude they won't fire you or be an ass to you because you asked for a raise. it's a very normal thing to do...

just ask.

Hey, ABC company keeps calling me up asking to go work for them for $$$ if you don't increase my pay from $ to $$$, as much as I like it here, I'll have no choice but to leave.
