Asking for a Motherboard recommendation

Simple thread, really. I just need a suggestion for a motherboard that will fit my limited requirements. Recently I started a thread and someone suggest the Gigabyte DS3R but I found that board to be a bit too risky after reading some reviews. It seems to commonly catch a case of 'Sudden Death Syndrom' or 'Endless Boot Cycle.' I've also read about a board having problems with A-Data ram and another with OCZ, and yet another that doesn't support some C2Ds (namely the e6750) with some shipped bios. The bios not supporting C2Ds would be a serious killer as the e6750 or q6600 will likely be the only LGA775 processor in the house when I purchase, so I won't be able to switch out to a e21xx like some people did to fix their Neo2s. So, before I run out and purchase anything myself, I'd like some opinions on what board to purchase. Ideally, I'd like a board that overclocks like a king with great stability but then again I'm wanting something in the budget to midrange areas. So I guess I won't mind if my board has a bit of a wabble in its step, just not a full on limp but I realize no board will be perfect.

What I'm trying to avoid is knowing that I need to use new equipment when all the hardware is right in front of me. No having to switch out processors (or get a new board as I don't have any LGA775) or new memory (same as my current rig is using DDR1). I'm trying to avoid finding out last minute that PK5 won't post with the USB header in or that Neo2-FR won't work with high wattage PSUs (though I'm fine). As for getting a DDR1/2 board, I'm not too warm and fuzzy with the idea, I want to give this old thing away when I'm done building.

What I need
PCI-e
A good chance of no-questions-asked support for C2Ds without need for flashing (not too bad, I don't think)
$0 to $120, though I am willing to go a bit higher if really necessary.
Decent overclocker
Rock solid stability
Onboard sound with 5.1
Four slots for DDR2 with max of 8+GB
Four SATA port - won't be too tough
Plays nice with Vista?

What I want
Penryn support. A plus but not needed.
PCIe2.0. Just in case.
Onboard sound with 7.1... well, I already have 7.1 speakers... :|

What I don't necessarily need
An expensive tag, but if I really have to go as high as the IP35 Pro, I will. No higher though. :x
SLI - won't use
Crossfire - definitely won't use
Raid - won't use
Firewire - don't have anything to use it with
All japanese made capacitors. - :)
eSATA - won't use
A board with a high RMA rate due to doas or such
DDR3 - Do not want for obvious reasons

The parts I plan to use with the motherboard are:
E6750 or Q6600, leaning on E6750.
4~8GB of G.Skill DDR2 memory
Samsung 500GB spinpoint SATA HD
7900GS and 8800GT hence the need for a PCIe slot
Earthwatts 500w
Vista

Without making this too long: thanks.

Edit:
Oh nuts1 Just a few posts down and I missed it? Hmmm, I guess that's why most people sleep this time of the day. In my own defense, Rene doesn't really say anything in that post. :/

DFI BLOOD IRON P35-T2RL $115

Single x16 PCI-E slot
Raid features
8 channel sound
Supports 8GB DDR2
Supports Penryn cpus

It's a DFI so it will have more overclocking tweaks than you can shake a stick at.

Go with e6750 or, better yet, wait until mid January, the Penryn dual cores are supposed to launch then (e8200/e8400 look awesome in the same price range).

All non-JEDEC 1.8V DDR2 667 or 800 RAMs are suspect. OCZ is the worst. Scan this forum for users who could not POST with POS OCZ RAM. Swapped to Crucial and the problem went away. You were warned!

I prefer to KISS. The Abit IP35-E is a very good board. There are two documented issues with this board. The first is bad solder @ SATA headers. This should be easy to check. The second is cold boot issue if room temperature is under 63F. Root cause is a defective surface mount transistor.

You can read more about IP35-E @ the IP35-E review thread (MB forum). Board was selling between $55 and $70 AR. It is now closer to $90 due to limited supply.

The MSI P35 Neo2-FR is another good board around $100.

The Abit IP35-E and Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L both sound like they fit the bill.
