Ask yourself one simple question...

How do you find truth?

now answer it.

I find truth in friends and family though in this day and age I might be one of the lucky ones who still have that luxury. I find truth in music weather it be complete crap (like some hip hop or ANY country, country fans just shove it, your music sucks) I think it still has something to offer to someone.

I find truth in the quest for the meaning of life, I want to know damn it, why are we all here, why do we suffer, are happy, exist! Answering "why not?" doesn't cut it, sorry.

so I ask you, how do you find truth?

You find the truth from your mind.

"The truth" is obviously subjective, as what one person may consider "the truth" may not be right from another's point of view. You don't get the truth from outside sources... you merely make assumptions and conclusions - information that is "The truth" - based upon what you see, hear, read, etc.

Consider religion, one of the most controversial "truths." Everyone in each religion believes they have found "the truth." Does it mean someone's "truth" is wrong? No, THEIR definition of "the truth" is correct in however they have it defined.

Therefore, while I'm not saying one particular religion or belief/set of beliefs is or is not right while the others are not, "the truth" is simply a man-made concept that exemplifies a set of beliefs that fit with a worldview and outlook on life. Because of this, everyone gets their truth from many different places at once, and it is often directly related to worldview.

And imho, to say you get "truth" from "music" sounds a bit too emo and illogical for me, but whatever floats your boat. 😉

I find truth in Edie Brickell lyrics.

I'm not aware of too many things,
but I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Philosophy is the talk on a cereal box.
Religion is the smile on a dog.
I'm not aware of too many things,
but I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Choke me in the shallow water before I get too deep.
What I am is what I am.
Are you what you are - or what?
I'm not aware of too many things,
but I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Philosophy is a walk on the slippery rocks.
Religion is a light in the fog.
I'm not aware of too many things,
but I know what I know if you know what I mean.
Choke me in the shallow water before I get too deep.
What I am is what I am.
Are you what you are - or what?
Don't let me get too deep.

I find comfort in knowing that for the rest of the day that a certain percentage of readers of this post will have the above song spinning through their heads.

Why would you want truth? Just go with whatever lie is most effective. I remember a famous physics quote about every model being wrong, but some being more useful for prediction than others.

I find truth in myself. Everything I believe to be true is true, therefore the truth.

simple enough yet profound in its own sort of way 🙂.
