A micro-ATX case has smaller footprint and much fewer expansion slots (typically 3-4) than a regular ATX case (typically 6-8). MicroATX cases require special micro-ATX motherboards. However, a micro-ATX motherboard will fit inside a regular ATX case. Not all microATX motherboards have the same physical sizes. Check out the sizes before purchasing. Some microATX cases use normal ATX or mini-ATX power supplies while some use microATX ones.
