ASIII: does anyone follow the instructions?

Never have; always works fine. I just put a rice-sized dab or in the center of the core of the T-bird (2 for AthlonXP) and let the heatsink squish it to where it needs to go. Seems to work fine.
 
I used to just put a dab on and made a thin layer but I started following their directions a little while ago ("rubbing" the AS into the core of the HS and all). I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes, but it seems to make sense to follow their directions - they're all about getting AS into all of those "microscopic pits."
 
I followed their directions pretty closely and it works great. My only problem is trying to decide how much AS3 to put on. If you put too little on you fry it, but if you put too much on it doesnt cool as well.
