Something else I noticed: The only movies bringing in more than 100 are big fancy 3D spectaculars, and mostly only the family and kid ones. Inception is the only exception to that rule for many years back.

1) wasn't such an awesome movie. it had a couple great bits, like the one where he reverse-psychology-es the cop, but after all it wasn't that good. imo the book itself is overrated.
2) is drug-themed, which will not go down well with the adult crowd, believe it or not.look at the reviews on IMDB for Limitless for example (much less of a drug film than this is), so much hate for drug users.
3) johnny depp wasn't that famous back then. he even did Dead Man which nobody watched(i did, it was dreadful).
4) it's an old flick. people have moved on.

I watched the movie and didn't like it at all. The premise wore thin very early, but it just kept going on, and on, and on...
