When you test vertical, don't you see how far you can touch without jumping, then how far you can touch after jumping? All you did was jump up high and bend your knees, to create that extra distance. I'm not saying I could do it (haven't tried...) but that's not a 135cm vertical.
Note I did say this
I can jump 135cm standing still on to a stack of disc's.
Of couse my vertical jump isn't 135cm. That would 52inches! That would probably be BEST IN THE WORLD.
We jump on to the discs to show explosive power and flexiblity and to see how we compared to last year. I do Olympic Weight Lifting. If yoru good a O-Lifter you WILL have a high vertical and pretty good flexiblity. I have good flexibilty as i'm naturally flexible and I also do some Gymnastics. Front splits but not strict but still flush.

sorry, that's not a test of vertical jumping abiltity BUT a test of jumping ability AND flexibility.
try touching something 135 cm above your max reach point, that would be impressive.
As mentioned it also demos you have to be quick with your legs and have flexibility. The properties that are needed to be an O-Lifter.
Thanks for the kind words. I hope to be British Champion in Olympic Weight Lifting some day. Probably about 8yrs or so it will take me to get to the level to win the British Championship.
I can't slam dunk. The reason being that I do everything with both my feet. I could not jump as high with one foot. Basketballers are more use to jumping off one foot running. If you get them to jump off both feet standing still they would get a lower vertical. Me on the other hand is the exact opposite. Also I haven't been playing Ball for long and my slam dunk technique isn't great. I can touch the rim on a 10ft rim touch.
Either way not many people would be able to jump on to a stack of discs 135cm high. Takes more then power. You need fast legs and flexibility. My friend at 15 can jump on to a stack of discs 127cm high.
