Ashford has a 1.0 carat round brilliant diamond, VVS1 clarity F color (colorless!) GIA certified diamond for $5800, use the passport deal and get the diamond for $4640. They will set it in a 14k tiffany setting for free. In my opinion this is HOT!!! This diamond will appraise for much more than this cost. My fiance spent MUCH more for a 1.02 carat similar diamond. I wish I had seen this deal earlier instead. They have many other diamonds too, but if anybody who's getting ready to propose during the holidays wants to really impress their bride to be, I'd suggest this diamond. You get size AND quality.

Isn't the Passport deal limited to a max discount of $500? Nice looking diamond though. But, I've got years to go before I have to worry about having to buy one... :D

If the deal is limited to $500, still $5300 isn't too bad, its a really nice diamond. Try going to your local jeweler and see how much a VVS1 F 1.0carat diamond might be going for. (One jeweler wanted to sell me a .9 carat H color VS1 for $9000...uhhh yeah right) Just for kicks I added the diamond to my cart and applied the coupon, it did take off the whole 20%. Who knows?

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy a diamond that you have not looked at out of a setting using the scope. Every major city has a jewelry mart of some kind. Go to the jewelry mart and you'll for better deals. I bought a 0.45 carat (hey, I was a poor student and I wanted quality) VVS2 color F (okay, I asked my wife for the specs) diamond from a friend at my church. The things not that big, but in the right light it actually glints lgiht blue, it's that clear. I paid 900 bucks for it (and he only cut me a 100 dollar break), I could have sold it to a jewelry store for 1500 and they would sell it for about $2500 to $3000 to the right schmuck.

A lot of diamonds have very small specks of carbon that are visible to the human eye but some less moral jewelers will hide it with the setting and sell it at a higher grade. My friend told me to never buy a diamond without inspecting it bare, under any circumstances.

That deals problably good, but you could get the same diamond for under $3500 at the Los Angeles jewelry mart.

Just wanted to pass the info along.

Uh, ya. Sorry. I went asked my wife about the color thing after the post and she set me straight.

Anyway, JEWELRY MART! I hate seeing people spend too much money on stuff. Most jewelry mart merchants in LA guarantee their diamonds to appraise at at least twice the payed price!!

Yeah i would agree.. i am NEVER going to buy jewelry online again. For instance, i bought from Jewelryrequest this item:

Jewelryrequest

I bought the heart pendent there, it says that that pendent is valued at $250, but is on sale at $75. Well, that's not exactly right. They may believe that it's valued at $250, but it's value is only $75, and it looks like it's value is $75. They even send you a signed confirmation that the pendent is only valued at $75.
