I haven't seen any thread on this, thought I would start one. Anyone else following the development of this?

I've been watching a lot of of in-game footage as well as the recent Q&A sessions the've been hosting. It sounds very promising. I'm a little worried about how much they are trying to do, but they seems to know what they are doing and I like the way they are approaching everything.

Some Key features i'm really looking forward to:
- Nodes: small areas that grow and develop with the playerbase. Start with a campsite, end with a city that players influence and mold.
- Seasons: I believe they plan to do real time seasons as well as day and night.
- Economy and Crafting: Sounds like they are doing this right, no P2W, items created by player-base, sold to each other much like Eve.
- Subscription, not F2P.
- Legendary items: These will actually be rare, in one Q&A they mentioned truly unique items, that may take years to find, or may only last a certain time before going back for someone else to find.

Many other things I can't think of, but going to keep an eye on this. Here is another video that shows some gameplay. Game looks pretty far along already, before they started the Kickstarter.

I've been watching the tri-weekly live streams. The studio head (Steven) definitely has a vision of what he wants to do. I don't know if they'll accomplish it but he definitely knows what mechanics he wants. They've got some pretty cool ideas.

I backed. I love MMOs and there just haven't been any of worth lately.

Aren't there a number of guys that used to work on EQ:Next on this project? They are saying the right things and i like the direction, wake me up when it's playable though :(

Some of them yeah. Some from other MMOs, some from FPS games (i think one of guys worked on the original Duke).

I don't have a good feeling about this one...

Oh red flags for sure. I haven't personally pledged this, but really hope it works out. I have been watching all the twitch interviews and they really do sound like they have everything planned out. Now can they actually do it is the question. I am worried that once they hire all the needed programmers and start on actual code, they are in for a rude awakening and lots of "uhh yeah this is harder than we thought."

I believe they are honest in their desire to create the game, I just think they are a bit overconfident in their ability to pull it off. We'll see in a year or so.

Well it looks like they met all their stretch goals. Up to 19.5k backers and $3.27mil. I still didn't back, but will keep an eye on it. I do enjoy their twitch live streams. Hoping they pull it off!

I like that as they approached their 3 mil stretch they didn't append more goals to the KS. Stephen always said that those goals were what they they thought they could get done and not have their time-frame slip. I was wondering if he was going to hold to that as they neared the final stretch goal.
