Man! Good news, good news and more good news! GameSpy's got some new screenshots and an excellent interview. Damn, the game really looks and sounds impressive. Best news of of all? Beta test starts THIS SUMMER! Anyone else recognize the Cragstone beach?

I was in the beta for the first Asheron's Call

Got the game but never played it.

Too busy playing with the Age of Kings beta at the time

I put the beta CD in.. entered the world.. and my jaw dropped. It was amazing. Within 5 minutes, i was already hunting reedsharks with some new friends somewhere near Nanto.

I thiunk I played EQ at least 100 hours a month.
SO, that was like 10 cents an hour.
Folks who bitch about the fees have no idea how cheap it is or how much fun these games are.

As a former EverQuester, I can vouch that the game can be fun, but NO WAY would I, and I'd think, most people, would play it for 100 hours a month... 3-4 hours a day? Everyday?

Also, you have to take into consideration that those 3-4 hours are on only one game... I couldn't play just one game type a month. I need to mix in an FPS or RTS somewhere. So either add more hours or take away from those 3-4 a day you're playing your Pay-Per-Play game.

I'd probably play a MMORPG for about an hour a day average, I think I'd pay $5 a month, $10 starts to add up.

Think again...especially where EQ is concerned. 3 hours a day isnt considered hardcore in EQ terms. Try 8-10.

You're right, I have heard way too many addiction stories to make that dumb statement... well, I guess if those people weren't playing EQ they'd be on the internet elsewhere... like ATOT

Actually, most of my ATOT time is at work anymore, I guess that goes for a lot of us during the daytime. Either that or college.

Back in the heyday of my EQ addiction, I'd immediately log on after work and play until about midnite, so that's about 5 hours each weekday. Then I'd log on for another 5+ hours on Sat and Sunday. And I'd consider myself pretty much average in amount of time invested, there's alot more people that have waaaaay more time than I have.

But that new AC2 looks pretty cool. I didn't like the first one at all, but this one looks pretty promising...
