Dispite all his heming and hawing about being tough on terror, despite all the curbs on civil liberties with PA, despite all the extrajudicial interrogations, despite the over 5000 arrests, John Ashcroft has not convicted a single person for terrorist conspiracy or for involvement in terror. Talk about incompitant.

Come on. There's GOT to be a payoff for all these new governement spending for new departments like motherland security dept, new found coop between them, and massive governement growth and the money it costed? What a joke.

Well, Ashcroft has reformed. He's stopped giving them trials. :)

If you just hold them, and don't tell anyone where they are-see Human Rights Watch-then you don't have to try them.

Why isn't this the road to totalitarianism? What's happened to the rule of law?

And 50% of the countrys ready to re-elect these traitors to rule-of-law and failures on down the line. It amazes me, really.

I find it scary that there haven't been any terrorist attacks here lately.
I am afraid they are planning a big one. And there isn't enough being done to prevent it.

Most Republicans see the same problems we see. But they just can't bring themselves to vote for regime change because they aren't convinced Kerry will be any better. Call me cynical, but I have the same fear.

I think the US is pretty much a self-playing piano at this point.

Call Ashcroft lame if you must. You may never know what acts of terror he or his department have interrupted or thwarted.

Easy to be smug when you know nothing.

Yes, Bush winks in your general direction. ;)
