I cannot wait for this to come out...

Production has officially begun on the Starz original series Ash Vs. Evil Dead - the TV adaptation of the cult horror franchise from original creators Sam Raimi, and star Bruce Cambell. Shooting has begun down in New Zealand for the first 10-episode season, featuring Campbell reprising the role of Ash - now an aging, traumatized lothario ever fearful of return of the dastardly Deadites who've been dormant for decades.
Now, after 30 years, the "Evil" is rising once again. Is it Ash's fault that the Deadites are back?
"Of course," laughed Sam Raimi.

On Starz it actually stands a chance of being good. Fingers crossed. I think it is awesome they are keeping Bruce Campbell in the role and not rebooting it with some other actor.

I met him once and he's a very down to Earth friendly guy.

They should do it in a futuristic wasteland and pick up where the ending from army of darkness leaves off, just like how army of darkness picked up from 2.

I met him at comic con last year and it was one of the best celebrity encounters I've ever had. I stayed for his audience panel as well. During that, he gave me crap in the usual Bruce Campbell way, but during the meet and greet he was really nice and like you said, down to earth. I'm looking forward to the series.

It will be like The Walking Dead. Each week we will watch and thoroughly enjoy the show but come to this thread to pick it apart and complain when there is not enough action.

Didn't he take a job at S Mart?

You've apparently never seen the US ending. Personally I always preferred the S-Mart ending, but the original ending really fit Ashe's personality better.

I disagree. The Walking Dead is a human drama - and boring most of the time for people who expect it to be a show about zombies. This will be more like Z Nation where there's actually comedy and things happening every episode. Of course, it remains to be seen what they do with it..but, I would lean more that way than TWD. I mean yea...people will pick it apart, like everything there's going to be haters.

Remaking the movie was fucking stupid without Bruce Campbell. Too bad they didn't make another film in the series, then continued the TV show after that.

This is going to be awesome, though.

lol @ thedarkwolf's pic :D

Evil Dead 2 has been my favorite "horror" movie since it came out.
The Three Stooges of horror films. (Stooges even referenced in ED2)
And I also love the first The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness.
I get a kick out of the whole series and can't wait for Vs. to come out.

Even his first book was funny! (Haven't read the 2nd one yet...)
Any Bruce Campbell or Evil Dead fan will like this book.
