Asetek® today announced that it has secured a design win with an undisclosed OEM customer for a graphics liquid cooling product. The ambitious project is forecasted by the customer to result in 2 – 4 million dollars of revenue. Shipping is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2015. The design win continues Asetek’s success in the growing graphics liquid cooling market.

lets all speculate wildly!

Here I go:

  1. dual slot integrated water cooler on the top end skus.
  2. nvidia titan watercooled

FYI, it's "let's" and "wildly" not "lets . . . widely."

It reads like a penny stock email during the pump phase, but good for them I guess.

I would imagine it's for the GTX 980 or whatever it is they decide to call the big die Maxwell. I don't personally expect to see the "Titan" carry on generation after generation, not that they won't use it at some point in the future if the need arises.

However, I sure hope if this is the case they will offer a block only, no pump/radiator version for those who wish to utilize an already existing superior loop.

I do too, but I don't think we'll see it every generation. I think they will pull it out as the need/opportunity arises....Sort of like we occasionally see a ZR-1 Corvette.

I hope its on more GPUs simply because its a superior solution.

Not just the ridiculously high end.

Another possibility is that amd has just given up on designing coolers and this will be their stock heatsink.

The way it's worded though makes it difficult to tell if they are implying nVidia/AMD or simply a vendor such as Asus/Evga/etc. The revenue projections seem to imply nVidia/AMD though.

Its a no brainer to go water for high end GPUs that output so much heat. With a good fan, you get the best of low noise & low temps AND all that exhaust goes out your case.

At this point, it could either be NV's or AMD's dual big die card. They will definitely be needing it since we're stuck on 28nm for awhile yet.

Asetek has previously provided CPU coolers for AMD.

I wonder if the revenue numbers are for the card or for the cooler? Assuming it's for the card, I don't think it's a titan level card as that's too pricey to do that volume, but a $500-$600 card would be about right.

It's their (Asetek) projected revenue by the customer so its an estimate from customer for how much Asetek will earn for the cooler. That's my understanding.

Assume they are selling those coolers @ $30 each to OEMs. $3M revenue would be 100,000 units, well in line for top GPUs (which sell in lower volumes than millions of mainstream or midrange cards).

Asetek makes the cooler for the 295x2 so I'll lean towards AMD as being the big OEM.

I forgot about the dual pumps, it could end up around $50-60 to OEMs.

That puts it around 50,000 units, definitely a high-end card.

Seems like a low ball figure to me. At least when looking at the 295x2's cooler. The kit would probably retail for around $180 or so.

I got a bunch of Thermaltake Extreme Pro with 1 pump and a thick 120x60mm rad and fan for $28, at cost from a retailer. The larger 140 x 30mm rad with 1 pump was $38. That is what they pay to the supplier for bulk.

I figure 2 pumps and a rad, with a special design would be around the $50 mark. :)

I'm surprised it took them this long to really get into the GPU AIO market, but I'm glad its here. The increased volume might help bring down prices across the board for both CPU and GPU aftermarket coolers

mid 2015.... Some time ago some poster on this forum said something about a Large island covered in snow and ice.
