I won't make this too long because it ain't necessary, but basically developers Ascaron had some financial troubles not so long ago, the actual company was almost entirely gone already a few months ago, but their subsidiary Studio 2 continued work on current projects including Sacred 2 and its expansion pack, as well as the console version. Anyway, so today I went on their forums for a completely different subject, and I noticed a post revealing that on the German part of the forums (most of the guys at Ascaron are Germans from what I understand) there was a post in which the Studio 2 employees were starting to post goodbye messages to the community.
I won't just type the whole posts from the English forums thread in question, but there it is, if you feel concerned or not, or just curious to learn about it. I for one think it's a shame, those guys had good potential in my opinion, Sacred 2 was not the best action RPG I played, but it was definitely amusing enough to burn some time every now and then. That's just another one closing for good (by that I mean the original name, Ascaron, and its original team, so basically it's definitely gone). It's a harsh domain to work in, always ending up being a question of money, unfortunately.
