ASAP! Can't update or restore Ipad...now in recovery mode

So i am travelling tomorrow and wanted an app on my ipad. It said i needed the new IOS.

So I tried to update, there was an unknown error. It then said restore, so I tried, another unknown error. Now it is in recovery mode and un-usable.....

I can't use it, update it, or restore it. I've re-installed I-tunes, reset my PC.

Any ideas? Thanks. In a hurry!

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't get it to work at all. The way I fixed it, which is strange but I read it online, I plugged it in to another PC, specifically my old mans laptop. Then it restored OK. I then plugged it back in to this PC, and I could sync as normal.

Very strange. I don't know what about my PC could cause it not to work, yet the laptop was fine.

Did the PC that failed to restore ever run any jailbreak utilities in the past? It's possible there were certain changes to the system's hosts file that break iTunes' ability to download signed SHSH blobs from Apple.

Open the Run menu ([WinKey]+[R]) and enter:
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Open the file with Notepad.

Delete any lines that mention Apple or iTunes.

Restart computer.
