As you get older do you get sick of recycled material?

Hi, I'm 33 and I don't think I can take anymore recycled songs, tv shows, movies, etc etc. I rarely watch TV, as almost every show on it is very repetitive. There are a few odd gems in there like Seinfeld that is a classic, but those shows are very rare. I can see the atrophied punchline, the talentless writers are building towards, before it leaves the actors mouths. Am I gifted or clairvoyant? No, I've just seen the same lame show about a decade ago but with different lame actors and a different lame show name.

The radio is just as repetitive, you know your in trouble when you hear a third or fourth "remake" of a song, plus every pop song sounds like every other pop song. If pop wasn't sacrine enough, "bands" actually reuse someone elses' syrupy song to make a "new and improved super-ultra sweet" song. I'm just thankful that technology allows me to turn off the radio and put in a burned cd of something decent.

Movies. Have you ever been watching a movie, and thought "Wow, I just had deja vu!". Well, I have news for you, it's not deja vu, it's just a scene from some other movie you've seen before. Now certain remakes are good, in fact sometimes better than the original, Oceans 11 anyone?, but for the love of all that is holy, there is a reason that shows like Charlie's Angels was on TV and not a movie to begin with. Please leave the made for TV writing on the TV where it belongs, and just because you can make Drew Barrymore do acrobatics via cgi, it doesn't mean you should. Thankfully there are some great movies every year to offset the garbage (Matrix, Band of Bro's, etc).

Cliff notes: I'm getting bitter in my old age. 😉

Thought this was going to be about recycled materials...meaning bottles, paper, etc.

But, yeah, remakes of songs are just an example of someone not having a creative bone in their body. Same with all of the TV "reality" series knockoffs.

The worst is the laughtracks. I hate that crap, lousy joke and fake laughter....

Anyway, yes, it's just you getting older. and $$$$.

As you get older you are pickier with your money. So, the entertainment industry targets the younger generation. They haven't seen a lot of the stuff we have, so they recycle it. It pays off. Of course, they go after the niche markets but not with as high of a budget.

They do need to get rid of the laugh tracks, the applause ones as well
