The most energetic player on the A's and probably the most exciting to watch over the past few years, and now he's gone...

hes waaay overrated as a player and hes old (29). They have better younger players coming up to fill in for him and they got a great arm in Kennedy (whos 26). Their rotation is going to rock the rest fo the year and for the next few years. Good trade.

Did Yankees get him, there were some rumors floating around and I Really hoped the Yanks would get Byrns. I like the way he husles.

Bah, they traded him to Rockies.

Do you know who's coming out of the rotation for Kennedy then? The whole rotation has been blazing hot in the past few weeks and I have no idea who they're going to sit..

No one, he's going to the pen, so is Witasick.

I'm sad to see Byrnes go, but he wasn't getting any playing time here anyway. We have our outfield set in Kielty, Swisher, and Kotsay. I don't think Payton is sticking around. I see him and someone else being stocked together in an "WHOA" trade by the deadline for a powerful right-handed bat. Primarily because the A's have Charles Thomas tearing it up in AAA ball. He can be used as our 4th OF.

This trade made sense. Byrnes was a horrendous outfielder (he made those "awesome" plays because he first broke wrong to the ball) and he was awful against righties.

How about the Nats picking up Preston Wilson? That's a pretty good bat to pick up, something the Nats needed.

Byrnes = Crash test dummy?

I think he just likes throwing himself around, it doesn't look like he has to dive for half of his web gems.

Why not just have NY agents hiring at the all-star game?
