AS SSD says "31 K - Bad" Offset/Alignment @ 4K Bad :hmm:

I'm running the Kingston SSD in my Signature below.
Is there an alignment tool I can run? My drive does not support TRIM.

Thanks for any help (and links!).

- Jim :)

Jim, I'm assuming you used an image for your SSD install and now the alignment is incorrect?

Unfortunately there's no way I know to correct that.

I'm not even sure which backup/imaging program saves the correct alignment but I know that some newer versions claim to do the job.

I haven't been much help here but if ya need any more info just give a holler! :D

To whom it may concern.....

I've installed the alignment program and it seems very nice.

Since my disc is already aligned correctly I can't comment on how well that works but I can say that it recognized my alignment was correct and refused to do anything else.

I'm very familiar with Paragon software and have always been satisfied with their products.

Jim, I'm voting you try it.

The worst it could do would be trashing your OS install and that's no biggie.

Go for it! :)

I did an image from my 640 Black when I set this SSD up 8-ish months ago...

While the alignment is reading OK now in AS SSD, the scores are very bad.
I plan to get a new TRIMable SSD soon and will do everything fresh then.

EDIT: looking at this new SSD

Thanks for the heads up on Paragon. I used the program and found my Agility SSD was indeed out of alignment since I did an upgrade from XP.

I guess people would do just about anything except a new install? :)

Well, it was Windows XP, so I a new install would still wouldn't fix it. It is also my wife's computer - and she wanted everything exactly the same as it was. It was a bit or work to get the alignment completed without data loss, and it didn't make the SSD any faster either (at least in real-life use).

Her motherboard fried about 2 weeks ago in her system, so I ended up re-installing anyways (WIndows XP) so now it is bad again. Going to try the Paragon tools tonight after I backup.
