As someone who's shaved everyday, how do I maintain that psuedo-scratchy look?

I've shaved just about every day for about the last six years. I've always been really clean shaven, almost too much so since I have been told I don't look my age. I want to try something new with my hair, but it entails keeping that week-only half-beard. What do I buy to keep it at that length? Obviously I can't just take a razor and shave, I don't want to have to regrow it every seven days. What is the little tool called that I'm looking to buy to do this?

don't they have attachments for electric razors to do this?

Yes they do. You can get razors that are adjustable for how long to keep the hair. THey also have specific Bear Trimmers that had a guide you can set for however long you want it.

Otherwise I'd just use the sideburn trimmer on my electric razor to get that same look. It takes it down far enough to not scream out that I haven't shaved, but it's definitely not clean shaven either....

Depending on how fast your beard grows in, you cold just shave in the evening instead of the morning. That'd give it time over night to grow back a bit and might give you the scruffy look a bit.

Trust me on this, the sideburn trimers on electric razors are a pain in the ass when you try doing the entire face. They fold up/retract at all the wrong times. A beard trimmer is your best bet for the scruffy look. It can trim it down all the way to a fine stubble if you chose, or longer.

Trust me on this the sideburn trimmers on MY electric razor(Braun Syncro) is perfect for this. I find shaving with the electric takes a fair amount of time to make sure you did a good job. I have gotten lazy and just poip out the saidebuirn trimmer and do my whole face. It's pretty short and not very noticeable. But I can be shaved in about 60secs.

I only actually use the shaver part when I want it down to the skin for some reason(weddign etc)

Never tried that model. I just know that every fold-up sideburn trimmer I tried was a pain because it would collapse if I moved the the wrong way. Maybe the braun's SB trimmer locks open and doesn't collapse. If so, good for braun. 🙂
