I had a motherboard led error message of 64 and booting takes about a minute. Once the system boots there are no lights on the board including the Power or Reset button. Is this normal?

Well according to the manual an error code in the 61-91 range is a chipset initialization error. Says to reset the cmos and boot again. Might check for a bios update if it keeps happening. I have the same board for the last 2 weeks and it's been flawless, no error 64

Reset the CMOS, removed the battery for 10 minutes and I'm now getting error 55 if I put RAM in slots 1 & 2 and only boots with RAM in slots 3 & 4 so I am probably looking at a RMA?

Edit: After you boot, are any of the LEDs on the board lit? Codes/Reset button/Power button?

Bios under south bridge there is a good night led that controls the mb leds on off wih a extreme 77.

Once it posts I have no lights on the board. Looks like error 55 is a memory detection error I would test with 1 stick in each slot one at a time, then test the pair in 1 and 3 and then 2 and 4. If you want the memory to run dual channel it has to paired in a 1 3 or 2 4 config. but test each stick one at a time in each slot first.

I have no Good Night LED when the system posts.

Thanks, tried this and system won't boot with any sticks in A1 or B1, It boots with a stick in A2 or B2. This was the same with both sticks.

Edit: How does the ASRock RMA work? It says to go to the retailer (Microcenter) but the retailer only has a 15-day return policy. ASRock gives the retailer a 1-year warranty and states I should resolve it through them.

Not that it matters (since it looks like you got a faulty board), but I think there is a setting in BIOS to keep diagnostic LEDs lit after boot or turn them off. By default it's off, so once you successfully boot they will turn off.

The microcenter policy is ambiguous, it says 15 days to return, but it does not clarify if the 15 days are also for exchange or not. Give them a call?

Calling ASRock today but I think I killed my motherboard. I saw a couple bent pins. I've built many systems but never had this issue. I flushed away $90 but will call to see if they will repair/replace the socket. I did get an Extreme6 but now I'm afraid to put in the f'in cpu incorrectly. :(

Edit: I heard horror stories about ASRock customer service but it went better than expected. They will replace it as an out-of warranty board and send out a new one for $50.
