As if going to Jiffy Lube wasn't reason enough for a smack to the head...

Oil Can Henry's > *

I changed my own oil for a couple years, but it was a huge PITA. After material and disposal costs, I realized it's only a few bucks cheaper to do it yourself.

Also, its only a few bucks cheaper to take it to a quick lube than to take it to the dealer. I have seen some bad bad things come out of oil changes. Plugs that get stripped or put in without washters. Vacum hoses getting cut or knocked loose. Oil all over the engine bay/ no oil cap put back on, so the engine spews oil everywhere. Sometimes the car is drained and oil is never put back in. Sometimes just too little or too much.

At my dealer it costs me 25 bucks to change the oil and I get free snacks and drinks in the lounge. Its a toyota dealer and I take my volvo there too.

I need to take my car to a dealer... last time i went to jiffy lube they tried to sell me all their bullshit services like fuel injector cleaning. i told them i was there to get my oil changed, not do a complete engine rebuild. Those places are so sketchy.

OK

Here

How the hell is someone supposed to search for that?:disgust::roll:

Exactly. The original title and his text made no mention of it. This "repost" screaming in here is getting way out of hand. This place is open constantly, and most who come here are only here for a short window of time. The search function only works when it wants to anyway.

"Disposal costs"?

It's easy and fast. If it's only "a few bucks cheaper", you're not taking something into account, such as using quality oil and a good filter (unlike what Jiffy Lube will give you).
