Oh... You're don't support the Brady bill? I thought you wanted to protect people from themselves and from others? That's your entire anti-abortion platform?! So people don't have the right to be protected from wackos with guns. A simple thing like a central gun owner database would help the police so much.
I'm all for personal responsibility also, so we agree on that. People are responsible for there own health and the health of there children. People are also resposible for there own lives. If a baby is unplanned then I trust the person can be resonsible enough to abort it.
I never said I wanted to protect people from themselves. What I said is I want to protect people from idiots that can't handle being responsible for themselves. A central gun owner database? No thanks. Here's an idea....why don't we enforce the gun laws we already have instead of making up new ones due to a knee jerk reaction every time some nut job offs a bunch of people.
If a baby is unplanned for the people can be responsible enough to abort? Good lord that's a stupid statement. How about the people being responsible enough not to get pregnant in the first place. Nah....that would be too much to ask I suppose.
First off. Being responsible for not getting pregnant means abstinence, period. If you think that's ever going to happen you're living in lala land. The girl I dated all through college was on the pill, and took it every night. Guess what... She got pregnant. And you know what we did? That's right, we did the right thing. We were both in debt over our heads and didn't have jobs. It was the
only decision for us to make.
Second. You say gun laws are fine and that current laws are fine. If you speak to anyone in law enforcement you'll know how helpful a database would be to solving gun crimes. But you don't want to help the police. Someone gets shot, they find the weapon, and then you advocate not allowing them to track the weapon?!? What kinda sense is that? You say "Oooo too much government, that's sooooo bad, it's almost evil". Then the abortion issue comes up and all of a sudden you're pounding government into everyone's face.
Simply tell me... Should the government control people's lives? yes/no?
