anyway, how the heck do i change things in my board? like add new forums, change titles, backgrounds, etc etc etc?

At the bottom of the board is a link for Administration Panel. Click it.

 
Go in the administrative panel section, if you sign in as the admin, then when you go to the board, the very bottom has a link that says "Go to administrative panel"

Theres also an address...
Something like: "www.youraddress.com/phpbbdirectoryname/admin" I think.
 
if u wanna change all the gfx..u gotta go into your file folder(ftp?) and u can easily
subst the pics/logos etc for what u want.

yeah or download different templates (that you add in at admin panel too). You can download them at phpbbhacks.
