As a Pentax DSLR newbie, I just picked up something

The K100D kit lens is 18-55mm. Before I tried to order a Tamron 75-300mm, I checked craigslist and ended up with an ancient Pentax MZ-500 kit with one 35-80mm lens and one 80-200mm lens f/4.6 for $70. Both lenses are FA type. Although I heard someone bought the same 80-200mm lens for $15 before, I was still excited. 🙂 Then I ordered a new FA 50/1.4. I am reading Bryan Peterson's book and hope I can find back the time which is lost in P&S. 🙂

As soon as I have the extra cash I plan on picking up a 50mm 1.4 for my *istDL, from what I've heard it's a great lens for all purpose shooting.

I have a Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 with my DL, in RAW it can take some INCREDIBLE images. I'm consistently blown away by its sharpness, but some copies are very soft at 1.4. I got it with a real Pentax M42 converter for 50 bucks on eBay.

PM me if you want an example shot at full res.

Thanks. I think at 1.4 you are pushing to the limit. f/2.0 should be good enough.
