I was going to say that this isn't anything new but their design is the first to have two pumps. I'd be very interested in reading how it compared to some other models.

French scientist unveils artificial heart .....

Silly French, always trying to recreate what has already been done.

wiki on artifical heart development

Read the article, it says that this is the first artificial heart that can automatically adjust flow by itself through internal readings, and it is also the first to have two pumps rather than one.

heck even the brain if they can keep the personality intact, and of course a transfer process that doesn't just create a copy. after all we are just biological machines. it's the mind that matters.

I for one welcome the fact that I can have pizza for breakfast.

It's only a heart, I can always get a new one.

So it has a battery life of 5 hours. I assume it is an external battery. Does your heart stop when you have to replace the battery? Or is it a rechargeable battery? What happens if the battery shits the bed?

I'd assume you need to keep several batteries with you at all times. It beats being dead!
