I just put together a PII x710 machine with a HD4830. Everything went smoothly with vista installation except whenever I try to do anything 3D (direct3d games, VMR9 renderless output on KMP), I get horrible square patch patterns or random lines that appear on and off across the screen. This is definitely not an heat issue, as the fan on the video card's heatsink is working and CCC reports a cool 38C at idle. The artifacts are present in video playback with KMP even with a cold reboot of the computer, but disappear when I switch the renderer to default overlay (2D) mode.
Any suggestions for more troubleshooting before I submit a RMA request?
Again, this is a fresh vista x64 with the newest Catalyst (9.2) drivers. I will try to post some links to screenies when I get a chance.
EDIT: nvm, looks like things sorted themselves out somehow. hopefully I wouldn't have to get back to this thread with that same problem again.
