Artifacts while Gamin?

I have had my setup for a few months. Kyro2 - Epox 8k7a - 1 GHz AXIA @ 1.4 GHz.

Everything worked good. Then I blew up my hard drive and reinstalled everything. I installed both win98 and win2k.

If I go in to ANY game it works great. But after about 10 seconds, I get major artifacts. My GPU fan is running, it seems cool to the touch.

Any ideas? I am going to try and update my AGP miniport driver, see if that helps.

I think the AGP driver from epoxes website was the same as what I had. Updated it anyways, still no luck.

Installed 1.32 final 4-in-1s, no luck. Any ideas?

Are you overclocking the Kyro2 at all? Check to make sure you're not push the vid memory too far(as this will cause artifacts)? Maybe you got a bad GPU, or the heatsink isn't making good contact. It doesn't seem like a driver problem as I'd assume that a driver problem would produce artifacts immediately, whereas a hardware problem might take a moment for the over-stressed chip or chips to heat up. I'm betting that it's a heat-related problem. This would suggest that the GPU is either damaged, not making good contact with the heatsink, defective, or overclocked too far. I'd almost stake money on this being a physical hardware problem and not a software problem.

I disabled ISA anti-alaising, something around there (forgot what it was called mwaa haa) and turned ram down to cas2.5.

It works now. Part-ay.
