So I normally keep my SLi disabled since all I play is CS:S and I dont need both cards running for that game. But I just acquired ARMA 2 for Day Z and want to use SLI so I can max the game, so I go to enable i in Nvidia CP and all looks well..................until I start any game and immediatley I get waves of green artifacts on my screen. When I disable SLI and use single card everything is gone, naturally one would assume that the second card is bad, well i ran an OCCT error scan on both cards in SLI and while I still did see the green things (big patches of my screen go pearlescent green) I had 0 errors. I even tried raising voltage and I still get them. Could someone please help me out.

Switch the cards around, and play with just the second card to see if you get artifacts still. Try a different SLI bridge if you can. Maybe a fresh reinstall of drivers too.

What drivers are you running?

im running 275.33, just did a clean install and got the same results.

OK, so I just tried the second GPU by itself and everything worked perfectly, with the monitor still pluged into GPU2 I turned on SLi and the green artifacts returned yet again. This is very confusing.

So, I think I know whats wrong........but not what the problem is. I think its having a hard time trying to display through GPU1 the things it gets from GPU2, which is the whole dea behind SLI. So, with the SLI setting still setup from having the screen plugged into GPU2 I switched back to gpu1's DVI port. The screen made the exact same green textures appear until I disabled SLI and re-enabled it with the monitor plugged into GPU1. Could this be a bridge problem?

Try updating to the latest beta drivers. Also see if you can get a new SLI bridge to try.

I will never update from these drivers...I have had far to many problems with Nvidias shitty drivers to leave the safety of this set. I switched the SLI bridge from the first pair of fingers to the second and all is well. So it looks like it might either be a dead finger, or a bad seat on the bridge. Ill reseat the bridge on the first pair of fingers and see what happens.

EDIT - Well, im back to the first pair and all seems well. Looks like I solved my own problem :p. A reseat was all that was required, thanks for helping guys.

***** drivers? Yeah right...whatever.

You don't know what you're talking about and it's obvious you never even tried new ones to have an opinion.

Please refrain from using foul language.

The ole ***** driver myth. I used a bad nvidia card for 6 months thinking it was bad drivers. it wasn't until I finally switched to another Nvidia card that realized my problem. Bad card not the drivers. So what kind of problems do you have with the recent drivers>?

Please refrain from using foul language.

Its obvious is it? Where exactly are you obtaining your facts from? Or are you just outraged that someone doesnt have the same opinion as you? Nvidia isnt a [amazing] driver guru, they make video cards. How is it possible that ATI has poor drivers yet Nvidia cant?

No profanity in the tech forums, please

My card is fine thank you very much.

I have had nothing but instability with every new driver I have tried, up until I stopped updating them. The last new one I tried was somewhere in the 290's and I used every one inbetween that and the 275.33, these seem to work great.

Are you going to criticize every bit of advice given to you? cmdrdredd already gave you a suggestion and you shot it down immediately. Also, you don't know if the card is bad or not just yet.. your mobo slot could be bad too for all you know, or your power supply.

Its called process of elimination, follow it and you might get a solution.

But what are you experiencing exactly when you try the later drivers...? Any display has stopped responding errors, rainbow colors on desktop, etc. I'd try running one card at a time and see if the artifacts or symptoms disappear vs a synthetic test.

FYI, Back when I Had my GTX 560 I remember the 275.33 were more stable and I thought all these future release drivers were faulty. In a nutshell, it was the damn card and not so much ALL the drivers above 275.33.

It may be 2.90 + drivers took advantage of some extra features from some of Nvidia's later cards, making partly faulty cards showing errors/Artifacts. Or overclocked cards not stable anymore?

I have had little problems with Nvidia drivers for the past years. I always update to the latest beta.

Some drivers had certain problems in a few games. Like Fallout 3 and Fallout new Vegas. Could be fixed with a few workarounds.
