i just upgraded new case chieftec some extra cooling
and new 3d card 9800 xt 256 mb ddr
reinstalled my whole computer.
installed all mainbord drivers.

installed farcry test it
well in the begining it looked so cool all maxed out running nice and smooth like 40 or 60 fps or something

then litle further in the level:

Anyway asked some one told me those where core artifacts.
but that not the only thing
i play quake 3 unreal tournament 2003 and 2004 painkiller
and with those games no artifacts

so it might be a driver problem running ati catelyst drivers 4.5 from www.ati.com

my other hardware:
msi type model dunno
intel p4 2,6 ghz
2x 512 mb ddr 333mhz
audigy 2 Zs
1 dvd drive
and 1 dvd - writer
500 wat power suply cant be it asked

my system tempture right now while typing this
temp1:32c
hdd0:24c
temp2:30c
hdd1:32c

procesor something like 34c
and my 3d card: 62c seems to be normal work tempture

edit: some quick replies would be good :p
dunno if i posted this in the right forum

Do you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your system?
Any overclocks?
Have you patched the game to the latest version?

Just out of curiosity, what resolution are you running? That screenie looks horrible, nevermind the artifacts.

I agree. u have some nice jagged lines in the image (antialiasing even on???) and the image overall looks subpar for a top of the line video card like the 9800xt...maybe it's just an allegedly top-of-the-line video card? Perhaps one of the newer Nvidia cards would be a better choice?

Under Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/3D under Direct3D, set AA and AF to Application Preference.

See how that goes.

Screenie

This is with the 9800Pro using omega 4.4's, clocked beyond XT speeds but shouldn't be any different than an XT. Game settings as follows:

Res= 1280x1024
AA= off
Render mode= normal
Texture quality= very high
Texture filter quality= Trilinear
AF= 2
Particle count= high
Special effects= very high
Environment quality= very high
Shadows= medium
Water quality= custom
Lighting quality= very high

As stated earlier, make sure AA and AF are set to application preference in control panel.

I don't think you need a BIOS update for your card, in fact I doubt there are any. BFG was refering to your MOBO BIOS and MOBO chipset drivers.

Artifacts can be caused by:
1. Shoddy drivers
2. Defective hardware

Seeing as not everyone has this problem, #1 is unlikely. RMA the card. Don't let manufacturers sell you junk.

turned off vsync and that fixed it :)

i always got vsync probz with ubi soft games
some times i need it on then off depends

but vsync=true kindy suck gives to much mouse lag :(
