Artifacts hurt the card?

I "successfully" overclocked my core from 621 to 688 and had no problems in my 3dmark06 runs. I could've gone further as 3dmark showed no signs of problems.

But I decided to run some real world tets (aka games) anyway because I was getting antsy.

There is some slight artifacting in medieval 2 that only shows up on the battlefield in the battle map. Not anywhere else. I can live with it because I can hardly notice it.

Are this signs that my card is getting damaged? Will it get worse as time progresses?

Ask yourself this..... Would you risk killing your card for less than 5% performance increase....? nah, didn't think so. turn them clocks down a little bit , eh

I would turn it down to 675 or 670 and try that. 18 mhz could be the difference between the artifacts and not, as well as overheating your GPU.

artifacting = computational errors due to extreme overheating or electron leakage... both of them are very severe... you are literally burning your card by running it with artifacts.
