I have an old 32 MB Radeon DDR and I seem to have artifacts all over the screen at boot. Very consistent white or multicolored squares all over almost like a checkerboard scree. This continues down the part where windows XP loading prompt and once I actualy see the hourglass and the logon screen everything is normal. Everythig in windows looks beautifull in 2D or 3D.

Anybody ever have artifacts like this only ot boot but not in windows. Are any seperate circuits runing before windows loads that might be corup or something or is something else wrong. Also I have a MSI K7N2-L which sometimes does not start the disoplay with Radeons. I have two other Radeons without artifacts but is it possible that my motherboard is causing these problems?

Thanks

I also noticed that in windows the card is listed as having only 16 MB instead of 32. It seems that the ram has gone bad and it is dissabled by the windows drivers. Is there a way I can modify it to possibly fix the memory or to modify the bios or something that it would only use 16 mb all the time thanks.
