Ive done a temp test , under load with need for speed at full res etc, the card reaches 71c and the fan does not speed up, i get the glithes at around 60c so i will invest in new psu and some better cooling i think... good idea?

PS thanks for help mate... im rather new to all this stuff.. cheers.

still having BIG issues with Battlefield 2 to the point where the textures are that corrupt i can see the screen or where im going! HELP!!! :-(

PS forgot to say, artifacts are only in games no where else... =)

actually you probably have a different situation. the x850xt shouldnt artifact until its over about 72C. min ran at that temp when i got it, and the PSU issue would cause more lockups than texture errors. Although battlefield was susceptible to texture artifacts (triangle stuff) on mine when overclocking. It's most likely just a bad card. software doesnt have that much impact on artifacting.

well just as a point of interest, I was at a LAN a couple of weeks before this happened, and things got VERY hot, but I never got any glitches or artifacts at all, and this was running all my top games for about 20 hours

Return it to ATI if they made it and to Sapphire if they made it. I sure hope it's a retail card.

correct... ati WILL NOT accept 3rd party cards. they will only accept card made by them ie ATI OFFICAL PRODUCTS. Saphhire cards only use the chipsets from ati therefore like the other dude says return it to saphhire...

Goodluck.
