Artifacting or shoddy programming?

I have a Sapphire 9600pro Advantage. In certain games I notice flickering usually along wall adjointments, roofs, roads, etc. It always follows a line. I notice this in GTA3, 007 Nightfire. Some games don't show this effect. My question is would this be shoddy programming on the games part, or the card. All drivers are up to date and don't resolve the issue. The card isn't overclocked .

sounds more like shoddy programming to me...esp if you aren't seeing it in most games.

Does enabling 16xAF solve the problem for you?

Wait, are you talking about edge aliasing ("always follows a line")? In that case, try enabling 2x or 4xAA. Ignoring the big hit to your framerate, does that solve the problem?

Edit: So far, this just sounds like the limits of modern tech, not deficient software programmers or hardware engineers. Aliasing will occur when resolving images to the (very) finite resolutions of most PC monitors.
