Tim Cook

Seems in his own way, this guy is as big of an overbearing jerk of a boss as Jobs is reputed to be.

Wrong forum.

It's an article on Tim Cook, currently in charge of Apple. Apple seems to be a major player in the gadgets and phones category. Granted there is a dedicated Apple forum but I just thought people would be interested in the man who just might be the future CEO of Apple. His policies/changes could have a huge effect on what Google, RIM, and Microsoft does in the future.

An article on Steve Ballmer wouldn't belong in G&G either. It should be in All About Apple or Off Topic.

I read that yesterday, I wonder what 3 billion in sources they contracted for. I didn't like that they 'outed" him, I could give a damn less about what the guy does @ home. Hell, I thought Steve Jobs was gay...

Who may or may not actually be gay. Gawker is a pathetic excuse for journalism.

Yea that's really dumb. I don't see why that needs to be in that article at all. Just like Rex Ryan doing foot fetish videos, none of that matters if they do their job well.

Its Gawker - the same company that all but forced Jenn Sterger to come forward with the Brett Favre thing. They seem to think that gadget/sports/whatever blogs need to be more like TMZ.

They go on so much about it they see fit to have two paragraphs on him being gay. Ridiculous

Well, on the flip side there are plenty of negative Steve Jobs news, or at least news that gets painted negatively posted on this very forum.

I was actually more interested in the business aspects of Tim Cooks personality. From that standpoint, he seems like a really overbearing boss that expects you to do things the minute he says he wants it done. Also, he doesn't have the "vision" that Steve Jobs does and that can be problematic down the road.

Love Jobs or hate him, he does have a knack for knowing what will sell. While it's not all him, he has a knack for identifying various technologies and having his people integrate it into a whole that is pleasant to use. From that standpoint, Jonathan Ive is the true spiritual successor to Jobs but Ive probably doesn't have the necessary business acumen to succeed Jobs as CEO.

Hate to speculate negatively but I'm wondering if there is going to be a power struggle considering Tim Cook's personality when/if Jobs is gone permanently.
