I received mine today and immediately installed the paste.
I ordered the small contact area paste.
After installing this was the result
Ambient room temperature was 70F
Before 114F
After 110F

Both at load running the Unreal Flyby sequence fo 10 minutes.

Interesting stuff though
The CPU now runs at 1250MHz up from the 1236MHz at a lower voltage.

Dropped me three degrees also. My old paste was rock hard and had corroded the copper, though. (Celery 300a with a polished copper slug)

Anybody know how often I should replace the paste? I've got enough for years of use.

good paste and heat sinks can really make a difference.
(as long as you put as little paste on as possible)

i have been able to clock quite a few pent III's to
150 bus speeds and even
when running seti the temps can be around 95f

i think the better pastes do not dry out much.

but as long as your are not taking the heatsink off and
back on again i dont think you should need to replace it

I found my silicon heat paste went off after about 9 months ,so for my paste I'm gonna change it every 6 months to be on the safe side.
