Ramsinks at the moment use thermal adhesive tape so that they can be removed. There is arctic silver paste that is used to glue a heatsink to the ram chips as well opposed to the thermal grease for stuff like CPUS. They make the thermal paste because the grease would allow for the heatsinks to fall off right? Or so I think... If you let the thermal grease cure, doesn't it become sticky enough to hold the heatsinks with out letting them fall off?

No, that is not a good idea.
Just order double-sided thermal tape.

No, especially once it heats up from use.

The problem isn't AS5, the problem is that AS5 is slightly conductive - and it's NOT recommended to use them with GPU ram.

So, use something like dbl sided tape, or Arctic Ceramique.

If you manage to get it in between pins, it may affect the parasitic capacitance between the pins. This is what the manufacturer states, very poorly, on their web site.
An increase in capacitance on a pin could degrade performance theoretically. However, in reality, the frequencies on the IC pins inside a PC are much less than anything that would cause such a problem.

If you are careful and only place the right amount on the memory, there is nothing to worry about anyway.

The problem is that Arctic Silver 5 is not going to act as an adhesive, no matter how long you let it cure, and hold the RAM sinks. That is what the poster is asking about.

Pulled from AS5's site: "Not Electrically Conductive:
Arctic Silver 5 was formulated to conduct heat, not electricity.
(While much safer than electrically conductive silver and copper greases, Arctic Silver 5 should be kept away from electrical traces, pins, and leads. While it is not electrically conductive, the compound is very slightly capacitive and could potentially cause problems if it bridges two close-proximity electrical paths.)"

Right, but it has a slight capacitance. So although current won't flow, it sitll might transfer electricity.

Doesn't Arctic sell some thermal paste thats like Silver5, but is adhesive? That'll stop the sinks form falling off....
