Artic Freezer 7 CPU cooler touching northbridge

I bought an after-market CPU cooler (artic freezer 7) and it barely touches the northbridge of my DS3L mobo (that gold/bronze looking thing)

1) How hot does the northbridge typically get?
2) Is it OK if the plastic part of the fan is in contact with the northbridge? It's not going to melt the plastic or anything like that?

Just curious.

If it touches, it may not be seated properly. Beings that we cannot see it, we can't really comment.

I'm pretty positive that CPU heatsink is securely seated. I looked under the motherboard and all the pins are equally pushed through. The fan is just barely touching. I'm just wondering how hot the northbridge can get? People have said that they were able to install this particular fan on this motherboard with no problems, so I'm not sure why mine is any different. The fan does actually detach from the heatsink, so I might try seeing if I can move it up just a tad.

should be fine as long as its properly attached to the CPU, thats all that matters

and its not putting too much force against the NB heatsink

I have the the same mobo and same cooler. Mine is very close to touching the NB heatsink but its not. My cpu temps are just fine. There is nothing to worry about.
