Artic Céramique question

I am in the midst of my first build. I used Artic Céramique with a Ninja cpu cooler. I followed the directions to put one line on, then attached the Ninja. It will be 4 or 5 days before I get to the point of powering it up (since I get finish building until the weekend). Does that make any difference in how well it will spreads? Will it spread out as it is heated?

Also, does it matter if the Ninja got nudged or bumped gently a few times while I was installing the mobo into the case?

No problems in both cases. Hardcore people consider it bad for the heatsink to move the slightest amount after installation but it's never been an issue for me, and the thousands of others who have moved them can't have blown their computers up either.

waiting won't change anything, as 99% of the spreading was done when you put the cooler on. when you bumped it, did it move? if it did, i would reinstall it so that it's 100% not moving.

If you decide at some point to remove the HS just beware that Ceramique can get pretty sticky if you have used a lot (too much) it's more like a suction effect. You'll pull the chip out of the socket with the cooler if not careful. If you find you need to remove it, give the cooler a gentle twist before pulling it up. Some people advise running the CPU at full load to heat and soften it up a bit first. I haven't tried that personally so I can't comment on how well that trick works.

I've used the twist method for many years. It's a good idea no matter what goop you're using. Good way to rip the pins off a CPU or pull off a socket.
