well i was playin ut the otherday

i have a leadtek 6800gt, and it came stock at 350/1000 (even tho the ultra actually comes overclocked out the box)

i was running it at 400/1.1ghz and have been for a while with out any problems (3dmark not running aside)
then yesterday ut2004 froze for 10 seconds...wen it game back the image was fuzzy, and it had loads of 1cm horizontal lines goin top to bottom in a series of about 6 columns

went to desktop....same thing

restarted ... all better

and UT2003 and 2004 have started crashing upon exiting and they do so with a wierd noise. (im sure this is DEP but i cant turn it off "JUST" for UT, i would prefere to leave it on

so would i take the fuzzy image with lots of horizontal lines as graphics artifacts or unstable 66.51's?

memory artifacts are usually lines in textures or big 'flat' triangles where there should be textures.

core artifacts are usually single white pixels where they shouldn't be. More severe core artifacts will be more like a light snow of white pixels.
