Link here.
Reading sh1t like this makes me incredibly mad. If it wasn't for the Brits those ungrateful frog-eaters (the vandals!!) would be goose-stepping to work and singing "Deutschland-Lied" at sporting events. (vandal sporting events!!)
[French] police said: ?We do not think it was motivated by racial or nationalistic feeling. It was vandalism.?
Now, I may be wrong, but I think that this reeks of assinine nationalistic behavior. (ON THE BEHALF OF THE VANDALS, NOT THE FRENCH PEOPLE. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, COPYRIGHT 2003, NOT VALID IN WI, CA, OH, VOID WHERE PROHIBITED!!) Also, I realize it could very well not have been French vandals, but I personally believe that it was. (BUT I COULD BE WRONG, THE FRENCH PEOPLE AREN'T INVOLVED FOR SURE!!) Ugh, I feel better I vented a bit now..

EDIT: Made more clear for readers like "freegeeks", etc. Thanks.

It's France

imho They should dig them up and bring them all back to a country in which they are revered and not spat upon and reviled.

We shouldn't give them the satisfaction and the ability to deny it ever happened by removing the dead. They should stand a constant and timeless reminder the debt France owes it's liberators.

I can't believe you guys are blaming the entire country. It's about the equivalent of having a KKK member piss on MLK Jr's grave and then Europe starts calling the entire USA a bunch of racists. There was probably no more tan half a dozen assholes responsible for it, and you're saying it's the fault of the entire nation?

No, that's not the same thing at all. First off Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't die on foreign soil for another countries interests. Secondly, I'm upset that BRITISH soldiers are being disrespected, so don't turn this into some bullsh1t "you-think-America-is-best" thing. Also, if you have been paying attention to the news lately, there's been a disturbing amount of this behavior going on in this country. (New Zealand war graves, American graves, etc.) Also, I acknowledged in the original post that it very well may not have been French citizens who did it. Inflammatory statements like yours are often ill-thought and are only meant to generate an argument.

A small number of vandals can act upon their nationalism. I did not make some sweeping statement like "ALL FRENCH ARE ASSHOLES AND DON'T SHAVE THEIR ARMPITS". Here, I'll edit the main post to make it more clear for you if you're going to nitpick about wording.

I was talking about nitemare, rahvin, dabuddha, and Desslok, not your claim that it was nationalistic behavior. They all blamed the problem on the fact that the country it happened in is France. What I said had nothing to do with "America is best" or even dieing on foriegn soil. It was about blaming an entire country for the misdeeds of a couple people.

Notfred,

I suggest you go the Politics forum more often. There you will see that, next to OT and Politics&News, we need a "We Hate The Snail Eating French" forum.

This has happened three times, and each time has been IN FRANCE!! Nobody is saying all france is to blame, but there is obviously an anti-british/anti-american current running through their culture.

Yep, just like the Statue of Liberty is a constant and timeless reminder the debt America owes it's liberators

Ah we should just ignore them and let their economy go to sh*t. Or dump some locusts on their vineyards and watch them all die from dehydration.

France didn't liberate us... read a history book. They also gave that to us many years after the revolutionary war was over. France may have helped us fight the British, but the Americans did more fightin in the Rev. War than the French ever did in all of WW2

Let alone the fact that the French didn't WIN the Revolutionary War, and the driving reason behind their joining was just to piss the English off. Since when did the Statue of Liberty become a symbol of our burden of debt to the French Government?
