Once you close and board with the enemy ship, it's time to duel. This sequence takes place on the deck of the ship with plenty of sailors fighting around you. You square off against the enemy captain in a one-on-one duel trying to push him back against the stern railing of the ship. The number pad offers nine moves -- from chops, thrusts and slashes to dodges, ducks and parries. As you move up and down the deck, you'll encounter stairs and ropes that you can use for pre-scripted motions. Drive an enemy captain down a set of stairs and you'll see your captain grab a rope and swing down to continue the fight. If you dodge, or rope swing at exactly the right moment during a fight, you get an extra attack at the end of your animation helping you maintain momentum.
