I posted this in HotDeals, but I want to ask here for more clarification on the memory side. What's the key issues to keep in mind when purchasing memory for a system? The obvious is that it is compatable with the system, but there still seem to be many options above that. As posted below, I ordered a PE400SC from Dell, but I guess I want to get more of an education in memory choices, reasons, best practice, etc. Thanks!

From HotDeals...
OK, so here on slickdeals.net you can pick up this memory (2 sticks) as shown and it states that it works with the 400SC. My question is will both Kingston sticks work with the Dell 128MB DDR, ECC, 400Mhz 1x128 stick that comes with the sytem? Specifically, in regard to Dual Channel mode, can you go DDR with 3? I think the answer is no, but I just wanna ask the question to you gurus out there. Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question, but memory configuration DDR, PC3200, 3700, etc. seems to be more complicated these days.

Also, where is a good article (perhaps here on AT) that gives a good explination of all the different memory types and what works and doesn't.

Thanks!
