I ordered my first laptop on the 20th. Tricked out Compaq Presario R3000Z for $1100, and I've found myself checking my order status several times a day. They havn't shipped today which means no shipping this entire weekend. Which means I've got to wait longer for my portable power. I want my lappy now damnit! I've already bought a carrying case and wireless router now I want my new laptop.

I can't wait to surf anandtech from the crapper bitch!!

I just got the laptop today!! I'm typing from it right now. sweeet. Now to setup the wireless router for that toliet post I've been dreaming of.

also, nice specs - but in my experience with AMD laptops you're gonna have not-so-good battery life as it is anyway. - oh, and it'll be HOT

expect 3-4 hours battery life becuase of the AMD chip. But we'll see. It is damn heavy though, and there is one stuck pixel on the right side. It's only noticable on all black screens so I'm not sure if I'll go through the hassle of returning it just for that.

I got it becuase it's damn cheap!! 😛 For the price I got a lot of features I couldn't get with say a Dell. I'm halfway there to my portable DV studio. Now to save up for that DV cam. Quality wise from what I can tell initally everything seems to be built pretty solid.
