Early in the game

Morrison beat UCLA's defensive stopper, Afflalo, with a one-hand runner in the lane on the first possession and talked trash as well, yelling "Let's go Afflalo!" late in the half as if he was looking for a bigger challenge. That challenge game down the stretch.

He had been on the floor, it seemed, forever, when two Bruins, Arron Afflalo and Ryan Hollins, left their celebration to comfort him.

"I saw him lying there in tears and I just felt for him," said Bruins guard Arron Affalo, who helped Morrison to his feet at midcourt after defending him all night. "He has no reason to cry. He's a great player and he's going to have a great career."

Morrisons response

"That's just a sign of obviously a great program," Morrison said. "They had enough guts as a man to come over in their moment of victory, pick somebody off the floor. If I could thank them, I would."

Yeah that was nice of those Bruins. Somehow I don't think most players really take trash talking that seriously, it's more of a facetious thing. Media blows that stuff out of proportion, the players don't care in most cases.

I agree. A lot of the trash talking (especially in college) is b/c the players are excited and sort of challenging each other. They respect each other but still go after each other during competition but I don't think they are tellling fat mama jokes, I think they say things like "ya, I really burned you down at that end huh?", and "you better step up if you are going to stop me", just the normal stuff to sort of get each other going.
