Arrogant B@stard Ale & Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout

Arrogant Bastage: This has a STRONG taste, but I think I'm growing to like it. It's almost like there is a hint of lime in the taste, but like I said, I'm liking it. Its a little expensive, the 22oz bottle (unless they are using Imperial measurements, the bottle says 1 pint, 6 oz) was $3.79, but d@mn that one bottle has more flabor than a keg full of Budweiser.

Coming up later, I'll review the Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout, also in this thread.

Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout: it has a much darker flavor than AB, but not nearly as strong. It does have a somewhat chocolate taste, but not very much. Very dark color and a dark colored head. Not much of an overall flavor to it though aside from that general bitterness that stouts have. I rate it satisfactory, no more. Not bad, but not much to recommend it, especially at $7.50 per 6-pack.
*the stout review may be skewed by my recent ingestion of hot wings.

Not related to Arrogant Bastard Ale, but anyone like blue moon ? it's belgain white wheat-ale

I love the stuff.. it's my secondary beer, meaning i have like one a day as opposed to 2/3 of my regular (sam adams weiss/sam adams golden pilsner)

i remember trying it just as i was beginning to like beer, and... BLEH. i remember asking everyone around me to try it because i couldn't believe how bad it was. we left it on the table, about 4/5 still untouched. i haven't had it in a few years, but i'd be willing to give it another shot now [more mature tastes]

i :heart: belgians, and i like blue moon. it's domesetically made belgian style, iirc

My absolute favorite is Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout. But I'll go with Guinness, Anchor Steam, Blue Moon, any Dogfish Head Ale...For a lighter beer, I like Yuengling.

Edit: Forgot Bell's Oberon, and especially Bell's Cherry Stout. Yum.

You're right, it's Belgian style, made here. Pretty good with a slice of orange, too.

Edit: Hoegaarden's pretty good, too...

Wow, I didnt have much to drink last night (5 bottles of the BB Chocolate Stout and the oversized bottle of Arrogant Bastard), but I've got an unpleasant headache that hasnt gone away yet. I wasnt even drunk last night, either, though I did have a mild buzz going. I dont know which one of them caused it, but its annoying me even more as I attempt to study Calc.

I'm hoping it was the stout and not the Arrogant Bastard that caused it, since the stout wasnt very good, whereas I liked the AB. I guess there is only one way to find out though...
