Indian accent: (I find nothing wrong with that, yet)
"Will you please tell me the number you just entered on the keypad one second ago." (he really just asked for my cell phone number)
"Now what is your problem?"
"Oh, you forgot your password? Please hold for 2 minutes"
"Okay, please tell me what you want your password to be."
"Okay, I will send the password to your Tmobile phone. What is the last four digits of your social security and your home phone number?"
"Also, what was the answer to the secret question if you forgot your password?"
"Oh, you forgot. Your home phone number does not match our system. I will transfer you to wireless representative. Hold 2 minutes."
Another Indian accent: (Again, nothing wrong with it except that it seems that Tmobile has decided to pull a Dell and rellocate American jobs to India.)
"Okay, I am Sureem. I understand you forgot your password. How can I help you?"
"Well since you are calling from your cell phone, I cannot send the password to it. Will you hold for 2 minutes?"
About this time, it was my turn to do some talking...
Me: "No, it's not okay if you put me on hold for another 2 minutes! I am sick of being put on hold. I didn't steal this phone; I bought it. I am calling from in my house on the registered address and for some damn reason the home phone number that I originally sent in to your system does not match the current phone number that is in your system! Give me my password so I can get online and pay my bill."
"Okay, I send you password to phone."
ARRGH.. Now I understand why US Cellular can be such assholes, never give you a new phone (even after 3 years of service), use archaic phones, and still keep customers.. Their service WORKS.
For the past 3 months, with my Samsung S105 and Tmobile/Amazon deal, I have been getting dropped calls. Also, every time I dial a number it says "Call cannot be completed as dialed blah blah.." So, I have to dial at LEAST 2 times or 3 times before I'm connected with the original number that I dialed. Also, the very worst part, PEOPLE CANNOT REACH ME WHEN THEY CALL ME! It says one of a few things (according to my friends): "The user you have called has disconnected.", "The user you have dialed is not receiving incoming calls.", or just plain "Beep beep beep beep beep"
For a while, I just thought people didn't like me.. Seriously, I was never getting calls on the weekends or anything.. Then, I found out it was just my cell phone. My friends are saying they just quit trying to reach me. I even met a girl once on campus, got her number and gave her mine.. Well, she tried to call me, got a disconnected message, and then she thought I gave her a fake number. So, when I called her, she told me this. ARGHH.
Keep your existing cell phone service as long as it works - no matter what kind of crappy phone you have.. In my case, it was a 5 year-old Nokia 6160 with cracked case, broken antenna, and dying battery. I'd go back to that anyday not to experience dropped calls and my friends quit calling me.
