Arrgh! Samsung SCX-4521F Laser Multi Function (Printer/Fax/Copier/Scanner) $170+S/H after rebate

Flatbed printer, stand-alone fax, copier, scanner. Very competent printer and it has a document feeder. Much better than Brother MFPs, and costs much less than HP. UPS delivered the printer 4 business days after I ordered.

This is actually my second Samsung multi function printer. The first one bit the dust I think because I used a defective cartridge, but I liked it so much I bought this one. Over the years, I've used a few Hewlett Packard MFPs and I find the Samsung to be as good as the HPs. So the advantage of the Samsung is lower price. The Samsung designs tend to be more compact than HPs of similar capability (if space is an issue).

One thing that I don't like about the SCX-4521 is that there is no "straight-through" paper path option. Envelopes and label sheets will have to go through the regular paper path and possibly come out curled.

I just realized that even though I ordered the printer on 12/30, before the rebate started, the shipping date was in January. Anyone know if I can claim the rebate based on the January shipping date? The invoice shows BOTH the December and january dates.

(The rebate is good starting 1/1/06)
