No, really. That's the idea

Aimed at avoiding an empty Senate floor when a government agency shutdown is imminent or underway, a new Senate bill could result in senators being arrested and dragged, kicking and screaming, into Senate chambers to report to work/

I think this sounds a bit less heavy-handed than Lindsey Graham's idea of holding Congress at gun point until they do what he says. Hell, legally forcing the Senate to do it's damn job might be the last option if it gets much worse.

whatever happened to the idea of not getting paid if budgets aren't passed or there is a government shut down. Did that ever happen?

We already have basically an entire body of elected representatives, for decades, essentially committing treason by allowing us to be illegally invaded by tens of millions of foreigners. You honestly think they'll going to elect to be held responsible for anything else?

The mechanism by which the American people insure their life liberty and pursuit of happiness is via the government they choose to govern them. What we have is what we have chosen. As you can see we were tricked. We didn't know at the time of the founding that we were full of self hate and would vote for out own destruction. Back then we were gripped by the fever of the Enlightenment, and had many many leaders who, while they didn't know everything, were full of hope, liberalism, and the capacity to think. They had no idea at the time that their culture would become us. The civil war created a huge portion of the nation that has suffered ever since from an inferiority complex, all concentrated today in the form of a conservative brain defect.

lol Good point. Still, voting against it could at least be used as campaign fodder.

Thank you, Rainman.
