They probably had someone there to discourage random guest entry with it being saturday night and all. I definitely think it's lame that they wouldn't let you back in despite the fact that 1) he saw you leaving, and--more importantly--2) he knows in which apartment you live.

I'd make a trip to the office ASAP, pick up my pass, and let the desk worker know exactly what you think about their system...in as civil a way as possible, of course.

Send a ceritfied letter with your complaints. Send another one next week stating that the problem still hasn't been resolved and you will start deducting $50 a month (or whatever 10% is) from your rent check until the problem is resolved.

Your fault for living in a gated complex. Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.

Afaik, they were not denying /him/ entry..they were denying his vehicle entry. I'm assuming he could've walked right in..?

Call insurance company
upgrade auto insurance if necessary
drive forward

I had a parking lot try to imprison me for all time because I lost my ticket.

Aparently if I didn't pay the all day rate they could hold me forever.

Instead of driving through the gate I just used a CC and then did a chargeback. No Amex cardholder shall be falsley imprisoned!

Park in the driveway. Go to sleep in the car. Refuse to get out of the car when people try to get in or out. They will call a tow truck, who won't tow while youre in the car due ot liabilty issues. The guard will relent.

Saw this on Fraiser

I would have given him my middle finger and told that $7.50/hour rent-a-cop to go shove and drove right on through.

Defend your manhood and ego by continuing to not get the pass. If the guard won't let you in, result to violence, but I doubt you got anything on the rent-a-cop or else you wouldn't be making this thread.

Hannibal would get Murdock to distract the guy and lure him away while you and B.A. go through the gate.

:D Agreed.

I'm surprised that there was no suggestion that the OP pick up a weapon and stand the line alongside the gate guard.

What he's doing is lame, but he warned you ahead of time...

keep your 'pass?' on you...this is why most of the cheaper gated communities are laughable.

Your lease comment is teh funnay.

I personally would avoid those in that situation.

Why live in a gated community when you personally want anyone to come in?

that's funny...so why do they build fortresses?

way bad analogy, but feel free to fly around you butterfly.

I agree with ben franklin's quote...but unfortunately to just carry a gun I give up freedom; also unfortunately to deliver my replies in real life I do too.

No one is forcing him to live in a gated complex. He consciously chose to live there in full knowledge that there would be restrictions to entry. Then to turn around and complain that those restrictions are enforced to his detriment is asinine. If you think placing restrictions on travel is fun and positive, then you might consider a career in the TSA.

It is asinine when the dumb-f*cks who manage the complex haven't issued him with a vehicle pass after 6 months of living there.

And now that you know how incompetent and difficult they can be, you can tell them to p*ss off the next time they want any keys back to copy for the other residents.
