No one is forcing him to live in a gated complex. He consciously chose to live there in full knowledge that there would be restrictions to entry. Then to turn around and complain that those restrictions are enforced to his detriment is asinine. If you think placing restrictions on travel is fun and positive, then you might consider a career in the TSA.
I think the OP probably handled this sometime in the last 4 years.
