Negotiations are over thanks to Selig. It's really too bad. Both Arod and Boston wanted it and I would like to see one of the games premier players play for a good team but it looks like the players' union and Bud Selig put an end to it. Apparently if you sign a contract you cannot make less than the contract is worth even if you want to....("I'd like to make LESS money next year, that's right....what you say I have to make more?....bastages").
In a sense Arod shot himself in the foot by signing that contract though. Take a look at this editorial, summed up: His catch-22 of a contract assures his current team won't be good until he leaves and at the same time, assures he can't leave.
